English Curriculum
At our school, English is at the heart of learning and plays a vital role in every child’s education. We aim to inspire a love of language while helping pupils develop the reading, writing and communication skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Our English curriculum supports children in becoming confident readers, thoughtful writers and clear speakers. Through high-quality texts, structured phonics teaching that builds a strong foundation for reading and spelling, and purposeful writing opportunities, pupils develop secure literacy skills from an early age.
Speaking and listening are valued across the school, with regular opportunities for discussion, storytelling and performance. Together, our approaches to reading, writing, phonics and oracy help pupils grow into confident, enthusiastic and capable users of language.
